Metropolis Redux

Fritz Lang's Metropolis; a stunning vision of a futuristic urban dystopia, where technology is triumphant and society is divided firmly into the haves and have-nots.

Filmed in 1927, during the height of the decadence, excess and economic and social upheaval that was Germany's Weimar Republic, the themes of Metropolis are equally relevant today in our increasingly technological and ideologically divided society.

METROPOLIS REDUX; the most complete version of Fritz Lang's masterpiece, presented with a completely new techno/electronic soundtrack performed live by DJs Mike Boorman, Craig Gunn and Ebru Al, which created a new and contemporary atmosphere for this classic film and highlighted just how terrifyingly little has really changed over the last 90 years.

METROPOLIS REDUX was shown at the Whirled Cinema, Brixton, London on Friday 15th December 2017 to a sold-out audience.
